Occasionally I hear the question, "Is it worth It?" That question asks if the amount of money paid for tuition is worth the sacrifice. Many families who inquire about the possibility of sending their children to our school wonder about the cost of education when a "free" system (i.e. public and separate) is available to them.
Is it worth it? Yes, because your child will receive an education that is firmly rooted in the Word of God. Our curriculum meets the Ministry of Education guidelines and is written from a Christian perspective. Therefore, every subject acknowledges God as the centre of the creation. The school’s program is designed to complement the work of each Christian home and each Christian church.
Is it worth it? Yes, because your precious child will receive an education that includes the perspective that humans are created in God’s image to serve Him on this earth. Your child will be taught about God’s creation and be encouraged to respond in obedience to that creation.
Is it worth it? Yes, because we do a good job teaching our students the basic skills needed for life. Recently our Canadian Tests of Basic Skills results came back to the school. I am pleased to report that our curriculum has served our students well. The tests are given to students in grades 3-8, and the results show that we are in the 76th percentile across the nation as compared to the schools who took the same test. We have also heard feedback from our graduates that states we have prepared them well for the demands of high school.
Is it worth it? Yes, because when things go wrong, we strive to seek forgiveness and reconciliation. It is our perspective that we must extend grace as the Lord has extended grace to us. We also want to ensure that each situation is an opportunity for growth and development.
Is it worth it? Yes, because we are very interested in working with parents in a home and school partnership. It is helpful to us when we hear about each child. We use that information to provide the best program for each child. We use that information to help us gain a better understanding of the unique qualities of each child.
Is it worth it? Yes, because our student safety policies ensure that we are interested in caring for your child well. Our school has recently completed a thorough review of our safety procedures and policies to ensure that all students are safe. We are confident that we can provide a safe and loving environment.
Is it worth it? Yes, because our beautiful over 40,000 square-foot building is equipped well to serve our students. It includes a double gymnasium, a new library, a new band room, a new primary wing of six classrooms, and a new office area. We have much space that can house many students and provide a quality, Christian education.
My hope is that the reasons listed above may encourage you to think about sending your child to our school.
Should the cost of the education be a major issue, there may be some help available. We at Knox have some financial structures that help people who may find the cost too much of a burden. In addition, you will also find information about a trust fund set up to help qualified families.
If there are other issues that you would like to discuss, I am pleased to sit down with you either at the school or in your home. I am committed to ensuring that you know all the necessary information required to make an informed decision that is the best for your child.
Feel free to e-mail me or call me at your convenience to book an appointment. Feel free to spread the word about our school. We want many people to know about who we are and what we have to offer.
In Christ,
Mr. G. Petrusma
Principal
