Ken Michell



Ken Michell has been involved in Christian music ministry since 1991 as the lead singer and primary songwriter for the Canadian contemporary Christian band, "the dustkickers."  The band has produced several CDs and toured extensively throughout Canada and parts of the U.S. Their last release, "Sing Your Song" was nominated for two Covenant awards ("Praise & Worship Album of the Year" and "Praise & Worship Song of the Year"). 

Ken works part-time in two churches as the Worship Director and Worship Team
Leader  respectively at Bridlewood Presbyterian Church (Scarborough, ON) and
Knox Presbyterian Church (Toronto, ON). 

Ken is also employed at Canada Christian College as the Dean of Worship.  As
part of the Music Department, he teaches students in the Bachelors, Masters
and Doctorate of Sacred Music degree programs.  He is also part of a team
developing a Worship Leadership Certificate program to train up worship
leaders in the church in Biblical, Music and Worship studies.  The new one
year Certificate program will commence in September, 2009.

Willem Moolenbeek


Willem Moolenbeek enjoys a varied musical career that spans most genres and styles. He has performed throughout Canada and in Europe with pop groups, as an orchestral soloist, chamber musician and in recital. Broadcasts of his music can frequently be heard on CBC radio. His teachers have included Canadian concert saxophonist Paul Brodie as well as Americans Frederick Hemke, Eugene Rousseau, and James Houlik. His focus in recent years has been to exploit the vocal qualities of the tenor saxophone in particular. As a proponent of new works for his instrument he has premiered and recorded works by many Canadian composers.

Mr. Moolenbeek is an artist/clinician for Jupiter Instruments, presenting workshops and concerts at schools and universities. He is a veteran of over 2000 school performances and has been part of the Edward Johnson Music Foundation’s “Musicians in the Schools” program since its inception in 2001. Willem Moolenbeek teaches saxophone on the music faculties of McMaster University, the Universities of Waterloo and Guelph and the National Music Camp of Canada.

Dennis Ullman



After graduating with an Honours Diploma in Applied Music from Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology, he has worked extensively in the areas of music education and performance. He regularly adjudicates at many regional music festivals throughout Ontario, including Canada’s Wonderland Music Festival and was a member of Mohawk College’s Applied Music Program Advisory Committee for ten years. As guest clinician, he has conducted sessions for the Durham Region Honour Band Program. Mr. Ullman has been a teacher in the Ontario Christian School system for nineteen years and conducts many award winning bands and ensembles. He is currently Director of Instrumental Music Programs at Durham Christian High School and Knox Christian School (Bowmanville). He has also directed various school (public/private) and performed with community bands. Ensembles under his direction have performed throughout Ontario, Quebec and as part of tours in Alberta, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Nashville, TN. Ensembles under the direction of Mr. Ullman have also performed at MusicFest Canada’s National Festival. Recently, he has taken on the responsibility to develop a Praise and Worship program as part of MusicFest Canada.

Theatre orchestra performances include “Fiddler on the Roof”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, and “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline”. Recordings include: ‘Duke’n It Out” with the Kawartha Jazz Ensemble, featuring arrangements by Ron Collier. He has also performed with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, Oshawa Civic Band and the Peterborough Civic Concert Band. He has performed regularly with the praise and worship teams at Carruthers Creek Community Church, Hope Community Church, Hope Fellowship CRC, and Bowmanville Baptist Church.

Mr. Ullman is a member of Canadian Music Festival Adjudicator’s Association (CMFAA), Canadian Band Director’s Association, Christian Instrumental Director’s Association (CIDA), Ontario Band Association (OBA) and Ontario Music Educators’ Association (OMEA). Mr. Ullman is also the founder and Regional Co-ordinator for the Ontario Christian MusicFest, an affiliate of MusicFest Canada.

Dennis and his children reside in Courtice, Ontario. As a family, they enjoy travelling, swimming, watching soccer, and of course the Stanley Cup champions - Detroit Red Wings as part of their leisure time activities.
